In compliance with the Chinese laws, international Christian fellowships serve only expats or foreign-passport holders in China. Family members of a foreign-passport holder are allowed to attend. While local Chinese are not permitted to attend the international fellowships, expats are allowed to attend local churches if they understand the Chinese language used during services. Some large local Chinese churches offer translation to English for expats. In that case, they will be seated in a special section with earphones.
